Leadership & Board
Thriving Christ-centered communities across Africa where churches, families, and young people are equipped to lead, serve, and build sustainable futures.
Preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ and demonstrating His work until all people groups are safe, secure, at peace, robust, and well.
Salama International, Inc. is a Christ-centered ministry dedicated to preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ and demonstrating His love through practical, life-changing action. Born from a call to serve pastors, families, and communities in Kenya and Uganda, Salama exists to help people become spiritually strong, economically empowered, and socially supported. Through partnerships with local churches, community leaders, and youth—both on and off the football field—Salama works to build communities that are safe, secure, at peace, robust, and, well, as God permits.

Our Founding Story
Salama International, Inc. was born out of a personal call to serve pastors and communities in East Africa.
In late 2017, during a three-week visit to Nairobi and surrounding communities in Kenya, and through conversations and ministry encounters in both Kenya and Tanzania, Salama’s founder witnessed a powerful and committed church—yet one deeply burdened by poverty, hunger, and limited access to basic resources. While pastors and believers were faithfully preaching the gospel and serving their communities, many lacked the tools, training, and economic support needed to sustain both their ministries and their families.
After returning to the United States, the burden to respond did not fade. Following a season of prayer and fasting in January 2018, God gave clear direction to establish a ministry that would not only proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ but also demonstrate His love through practical and sustainable solutions.
In March 2018, Salama International, Inc. was formally established with a mission to equip local believers to become self-sufficient—using their God-given gifts, education, skills, and community leadership to create jobs, strengthen families, and build lasting economic and social stability. From the beginning, Salama was guided by a committed board of directors, advisors, and intercessors who provided early financial support, spiritual covering, and strategic direction.
Today, Salama continues to walk alongside churches and community leaders in Uganda and Kenya—serving not as an outside solution but as a partner—helping communities see the tangible hand of God at work as lives are restored, leaders are equipped, and hope is rebuilt.
